The analysis was restricted to this class of nonlinear capacitors, because they represent with acceptable approximation the capacitances of reverse-biased Schottky diodes, which are very important and usually used in several static power converters practical applications. The charging and discharging are described by explicitly solvable nonlinear first-order differential equations.
