Estado da Arte sobre a Aplicação de Supercapacitores em Eletrônica de Potência

O objetivo principal deste trabalho é apresentar uma pesquisa bibliográfica sobre a aplicação de supercapacitores. Supercapacitor é o termo usado para descrever os capacitores eletroquímicos de dupla camada. Este dispositivo de armazenamento de energia possui elevado valor de capacitância e baixa resistência série equivalente. O dispositivo é apropriado para suprir rapidamente picos elevados de corrente em situações que requerem média quantidade de energia. Geralmente são usados em sistemas híbridos, ou seja, em conjunto com baterias ou células à combustível. Deste modo, cumprem um importante papel como fonte complementar de energia, no intuito de reduzir o tempo de reposta, melhorar a estabilidade e a qualidade do sistema de suprimento. Uma extensa pesquisa bibliográfica permitiu identificar as principais aplicações relacionadas à eletrônica de potência. Após uma apresentação dos aspectos fundamentais do dispositivo, as aplicações são discutidas.
